UMB School of Economics, 2019
JT Daniels and Sikestyle collaborated on 3 murals (one exterior and two interior) for the new location of the School of Economics opening in downtown KCMO. The exterior mural serves as entrance to the school, immersing the students in city that’s a direct representation of growth (much like the downtown surrounding them.) The first floor mural introduces students to the idea of “Save/Invest/Prosper” while also showing creative outlets where this prosperity can flourish. The final mural, located on the top floor, which is also the entrance to the School of Economics, showcases students looking into what their bright futures have to offer.
The School of Economics is a nonprofit organization and financial education facility. Business concepts and marketplace skills are put into practice using well-developed programs that keep elementary school students interested and engaged in the learning process. Over 12,000 students attend the School of Economics every year with the help of more than 3,500 parent and community volunteers. Reality-based education teaches children how to prepare for their financial future.
The mission of the organization is to provide high quality, reality-based educational experiences that prepare young people to understand and apply basic marketplace concepts and skills, and expose them to business-related careers.
