URBANA is an event that's been held within the Power & Light District, the first Wednesday of every month ( spanning from May - September). Combining the aesthetics of a cool urban hangout with a warming sense of nirvana, I was asked to introduce an art activity into the event.
Everyone that showed up was given a quick tutorial based on how to use pre-cut stencils and spray paint to create their own abstract piece of art that represents the theme/feeling of URBANA. The basic stencil lesson was created to show people how they could, step by step, recreate the URBANA logo using spray paint. The colors for the evening were based on their pre existing logo for the event.
Over the course of the evening, I personally met and painted with over 150 various individuals in a giant collaboration, all of whom who had varying previous art experiences ranging from none to some (lol!)
The night, all in all, was a huge success. Thanks to URBANA for allowing us to be apart of this event (and hopefully future events as well!)
